A creative approach – my thoughts about change

Autumn has interesting energy. It has always been my favourite season with its varied colour palette and the natural preparation for change and renewal. This awareness seems to take me into a quieter space of broader perception of the things and people around me and to attend to the connections that matter.

I have been taking time for mindful moments and acknowledging my personal growth cycle by simply listening to what is trying to emerge from within me.

This inner process has naturally inked changes to my personal life but also brought change to this small sustainable business of mine. To me, one of the beautiful aspects of humanity is creativity and craftsmanship, and our ability to tell a story through aesthetic and utilitarian objects.

It is so important for me to actively encourage creative change by connecting clothes and people in my intentional workshops. Shifting mindsets has never been more important than now with the urgency around waste in the fashion industry. When it comes to fast fashion - a construct where the desire for new and perfection is constantly promoted, the environmental impact is so huge, causing damage and destruction to natural habitats and human life at a speed that disconnects us from the real worth of things.

When we take the time to reset and start listening to our inner pace, we get reassurance that the transformation to a slower and deeper connection to our values and creativity is essential for a more sustainable and greater vision to grow and challenge the system.

‘The path we choose to prioritise the health and well-being of both our planet and its inhabitants is the direction we want our family and children to grow up and value nature and the people who create the things that surround them.’
