A slow stitching Sashiko workshop, where you’ll explore this beautiful mending techniques and principles of stitching different patterns to reinforce and embellish your well-worn garments.
What to expect to learn:
On naturally dyed cotton swatches, you’ll learn how to sew running stitch, cross stitch, and patching to repair damaged parts of your clothes
How to use Sashiko stencils to create geometric patterns
Which tools and threads to use for a smooth and long-lasting repair
Tools, scissors, samples for practicing, and a range of Sashiko threads will be provided. You’re welcome to bring a damaged item that you would like to discuss repairing. A warm cup of tea and refreshments will be available during the workshop.
