In this 2-hour hand-sewing workshop, you’ll explore and learn the repair of well-worn garments inspired by Japanese Sashiko and a series of darning techniques.
You’ll be introduced to:
Sashiko is a technique to reinforce and patch fabric using a running stitch to create geometrical patterns
Classic darning and Scotch stitch to repair holes in woven garments
Basic hand-sewing techniques such as knots, sewing stitches, and choice of thread
Ways of observing and understanding the damage of a garment to start the repair in time
